CHENG HONG WELFARE SERVICE SOCIETY (CHWSS) is the welfare arm of Cheng Hong Siang Tng (Charitable Organisation). It was officially registered with the Registrar of Societies and subsequently granted Institute of Public Character (i.e. tax-exempt) status by the Commissioner of Charities in 2004. In 2005, CHWSS became a full member of National Council of Social Services (NCSS).

The objectives of CHWSS are to co-ordinate all the welfare services under our Siang Tng which traditionally offered charitable services like education grants, free medical cares and helping the needy. CHWSS now undertakes these responsibilities and has plans to further our charitable efforts to help those disadvantaged in our society.

The setting up of Cheng Hong Medical Centre is one example. This medical centre provides free traditional Chinese medicine to the needy. It is staffed by professionally trained Chinese physicians offering up-to-date treatment within a clean and modem environment. The medical is situated at Blk 12 Eunos Crescent. It was officially opened on 1 January 2006.

Cheng Hong Siang Tng in partnership with the South West Community Development Council, PAP Community Foundation and Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society setup the Loving Heart Multi-Service Centre at Blk 210 Jurong East Street 21. This Centre provides a range of community services to help those needy and disadvantaged. These services include meal deliveries; provide food ration, medical escort, counseling and network with other charitable organizations to help the needy. This Centre now comes under the purview of CHWSS.

In order to provide, improve and expand our charitable ambitions to service the community, we appeal to your kind generosities and participations. We welcome your contributions and would like to invite you to come and join us in this challenge to make the world a little better for those in need.
